Minton win 42 to 26 to reach the round of 16
On 29 August, Minton's basketball team beat its opponent 42 to 26 in the second round of the 15th "Riying Cup" Shanghai Lawyers' Basketball Tournament, following its opening win and securing a place in the round of 16 on 13 September. The team played a controlled game and led at both ends from early on, with substitutes and colleagues on the sidelines supporting throughout. The tournament is organised by the Shanghai Bar Association and sponsored by Shanghai Riying Law Firm.
On 29 August Minton's team took the court again in the 15th "Riying Cup" Shanghai Lawyers' Basketball Tournament. With steady tactics and close teamwork the team beat its opponent 42 to 26, taking a second win and advancing to the round of 16.
The tournament is organised by the Shanghai Bar Association and sponsored by Shanghai Riying Law Firm, and brings together many of Shanghai's law firm teams. Minton carried over the form it showed in the previous game: the players worked as one and showed strong cohesion and competitive discipline.
The game was quick and competitive but played in good order. Minton settled quickly and applied pressure at both ends. On court the players ran hard and competed for every ball; on the bench substitutes and colleagues cheered them on. Throughout, the players set aside impatience and played steadily, kept to the sporting spirit of fair competition, controlled the game with solid play and closed out a comfortable win — a second successive victory and a firm place in the round of 16.
The winning run reflects the team's strength. The round of 16 will be played on Sunday 13 September. The firm looks forward to the players carrying that form into the next stage.
